Jim Murren

Jim Murren is chair of the Nevada COVID-19 Response, Relief and Recovery Task Force. He previously served as Chairman and CEO of MGM Resorts International and led the company through 9/11, the 2008 Financial Crisis, and 1 October. Prior to MGM, Murren spent 14 years on Wall Street, where he was a nationally ranked analyst in the hotel and gaming industries, earned the Chartered Financial Analyst certification, and became the youngest member of the Cyrus J. Lawrence Board of Directors. Additionally, Murren led the development of City Center and T-Mobile Arena, is a founding partner of the Vegas Golden Knights, organized the purchase and relocation of the Las Vegas Aces, and facilitated the growth of the NBA Summer League. He and his wife Heather co-founded the Nevada Cancer Institute and are founding donors to Nevada’s first Fisher House. Murren currently serves on the National Infrastructure Advisory Council. He is the chair of the Leadership Board of the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine and is a member of the Board of Trustees for Howard University.

The Nevada COVID-19 Task Force is a group of business leaders and community members, led by Jim Murren, driven to rally the resources of the private sector to best aid the state in the response, relief and recovery from COVID-19.
